The essence of dividing Governmental power into House of Assemblies, Representative at both National and State level as top level and lower level into local Government and Councilor's in a democratic system of government is to bridge the gap of distance between the people and the Government.
Government is supposed to be for the people by the people and must of all be the servant of the people, a good government is expected to ruled people based on their interest (general interest), not personal interest said Dan Masani Kano Late Maitama Sule, may God Grant him Jannah.
But Its unfortunate that the Kaduna State branches of government at all levels is going vice-visa of the real fundamentals rule of democratic leadership.
The increment of School fee in Kaduna State by the state Government is a total injustice and a tool of denying higher learning Education to the less privilege (masses), citizen.
The state house of Assembly members need to say no to it but keep mute like ice water, we expect the members to even fight if they must have to and ensure that the increment is totally rejected as if a motion is raised for the reduction of their salaries by 40%.
But it's obvious, non of any of the members, our representative both at red and green carpet houses ever raised a motion or say anything about it.
Their quietness lead the students to have no option but look forward to fight for their right since no one is there to come to their aid.
At the beginning the students embrace the dialogue option consulting traditional rulers, Imams and pastors, including relevant stake holders to intervene but still yet no positive results was attained.
Lastly the students began a peaceful demonstration protest within the school environment (Main Campus), for at least 3days.
But still yet the management said they have no option but will make installmentall payment available for returning students and no Students will be deprived chance of writing examination even if he has not paid or complete his registration but the new students must pay full payment.
The forth day peaceful demonstration protest was moving down the street matching to government house that is when they were opportuned to even see the deputy Governor and submit a request letter for a total revisal of the school fees them selves.
This kind of letter is mostly send to Government by the house of Assembly after debate among members rejecting the proposed decision that will affect the citizen of the state but KASU students do it them selves.
Solidarity forever, KASU is our School and we are hoping soon we will rejoice and celebrate our success as we await to hear positive result from the State Government as Promised during the meeting.
